Precarious Yates has lived in 8 different states of the Union and 3 different countries, but currently lives in Texas with her husband, her daughter and their mastiff. When she’s not writing, she enjoys music, teaching, playing on jungle gyms, praying and reading. She holds a Masters in the art of making tea and coffee and a PhD in Slinky® disentangling.
Book 1 of Revelation Special Ops, The Elite of the Weak,is available now on Kindle, Nook and iTunes.
At the end of the age, who will be chosen to rescue the least of these?
Weak because their hearts are broken for the oppressed.
Elite because they keep the code.
Hadassah isn’t like the rest of her friends in high school. Neither is she like the kids in her church’s youth group. At least not when she’s in the African jungle trying to rescue an abducted child, or when she’s crawling through an air duct on a surveilance mission in Queens. She was born for such a time as this. She also wasn’t cut out to do this work alone.
Here’s an explanation of Yates: it’s a family name. Some of you may know of Richard Yates who wrote Revolutionary Road and The Easter Parade, among other generally melancholic books. Sometimes a name needs to be redeemed.
Okay, okay, I’ll explain Precarious a bit too…
It’s a dangerous thing to trust human beings with something so glorious as the Gospel, but God takes risks… He places the Gospel in the hearts of human beings and bids us to share from there.

Let me explain ‘Precarious’ a little bit. When I was 23 I wrote a 5 act play that probably won’t ever see the light of day. It was called The Precarious Redemption of Laodicea. The main character, Precarious, was a bull-in-the-china-shop evangelist, but grew honest with herself and dedicated her life to the Lord’s will and to rescuing girls caught in sex slave trafficking. She needed to see the light of day even if the play never would.
I’d like to read that play!
