Book Review of Invasion, by Jon S. Lewis
Reading Invasion was like having a comic book reel through my head. Lewis described the action scenes so well, I was almost living in them. At times the book moved so quickly from one action scene to the next, I could just about feel the g-force of the speed working on me.
When I started the book, my logical reasoning balked at the idea of Bigfoot roaming the earth. After several chapters I thoroughly questioned my logical reasoning.
I loved the main character, Colt, not because I had to, or because he was pitiable. He wasn’t perfect, as he demonstrated on several occasions. But he was real, three dimensional and the kind of kid I’d have loved to hang out with when I was younger—fun-loving, adventurous and unassuming.
Are you into aliens? Read this book. Are you into cool gadgets? Read this book. As for the flying motorcycles—I’ve gotta try one of those some day! Lewis made it sound way too exciting.
I’m so glad there’s a sequel coming in January. I wanted Invasion to go on for at least 20 or 30 more chapters! And as soon as I finished the book I started again at page one.
