If anyone would come after Me, he must deny himself, pick up his cross daily and follow Me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.
Greater love has no one than this: that he lay down his life for his friends.
Whoever among you wants to become great must be the servant of all, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave.
He has shown you what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly, and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
These verses have been rattling down every corridor of my heart this past week, and I hope these verses stay a while, make camp in my inmost being, build a house (or a fire?) in my bones.
